Powders and co.
A box filled with gold, silver, copper and bronze powders... found while tidying up my workshop and forgotten for almost 20 years... I chose to experiment with powder, not in the classical way, but to propel it violently across the panels, to blow it with straws, to make it
slide, to constrain it by adding turpentine...
in short, a new world to explore. I'm rediscovering my craft over and over, it feels like Christmas every day and i love that.

Awakening the senses
One day, a lacquerer met a master pipe-maker. It all began with a look: the pipemaker glanced at the root of a tree and perceived the outline of a pipe, the lacquerer then brought in colours, chosen based on the pipe's shape or veining, and finally the smoker who will find a particular aesthetic in this object. The other senses - hearing, smell, touch and taste - fuse together and mingle with delight with each inspiration. And so the “Awakening the Senses” collection was born.

Skulls and co.
It started with the discovery of a horse's skeleton in a river recession, then an antelope and a buffalo skull gifted to me by my grandfather, and soon people started giving me skulls after discovering my work. With great respect, and a lot of patience, I took my time to fully understand them. I adorn them with colour and decorate them using traditional techniques such as eggshell lacquer and gilding . Like an ornament to show that they didn't die in vain, they soothe me and force me to take a break…
